Hurricane Ianos
Medicane Ianos (Hurricane-Like Storm in the Mediterranean) has hit Greece over the week end. This very rare event, characterized by heavy rainfall, killed two people and left extensive destruction.
Similar to tropical cyclones, floods and gusts to nearly 100 knots have destroyed more than 70 boats, mainly in the marinas of the island of Corfou and the island of Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea, located on the west coast.

Tropical Storm Gonzalo is expected to strengthen Thursday, July 23, 2020, into a hurricane., forecasters say. Here's the 7 a.m. track.
This is the earliest that a storm has received a name starting with the letter "G" since the United States began using a named-storm system in 1953. On average, the seventh named storm in a season is on September 16.
Monitoring oceanic conditions is a crucial part of sailing to help keep a vessel and its occupants safe! Watch out very closely the development of this system.

HH Catamarans - The Launch of the all new HH50!
HH Catamarans announces the launching of their first two new HH50 catamarans. Designed by Morrelli & Melvin and produced in Xiamen, the second unit has left the shipyard facilities this week and is being shipped on a cargo to the Meditarrenean. It will be shown at Cannes Yachting Festival, to be held on Sept 8-13, 2020.
